The only thing I’m worried about, is that I find it difficult to talk to complete strangers (in this case ATC) without somehow feeling a little stupid. D:

hey, loving the show, i am 16 years old and i live in canada, i dream of becoming a commercial pilot, i read up on it and that getting a bachelor’s degree in aviation technology will cost about 50-60k which i can afford, but im not sure in what direction i could take my career after college. regional airlines? instructor? is the pay sufficient enough to sustain some sort of a living?

hi im doing my last years of a levels doing maths,history and economics, and want to become a commercial airline pilot, i plan to go to uni to do economics, would this be paving a good and realistic way to become a pilot? do my degree, enrol in one of the schools and then apply? but im afraid because i hear it can cost 50 grand pounds to enrol in those course which i cant obtain

but for starters, best way to go is through the military, its also the cheapest, but its the most competative and challenging way to go through.
as long as you don’t go to ERAU you’ll be fine, but it’ll take 20 years if you don’t go through the miltary.
Best thing to do
Go to college n get a good degree FIRST!

In 2-3 month you could be a qualified private pilot. Really it is that simple and there are lots of schools around right now looking for students so you should be able to get a good deal (providing you ask).

Chris. Guts is not the issue. Anyone can do it. The only limit to what you can dream to do. Flying is easier than driving a car. As for the time. If you are someone like me who gets bored of study quickly I would book yourself on an intensive course. Get it booked then start studying. Because you’ve booked the course you won’t want to waste the money so it’ll be a huge motivation to get the exams done. Then train for 3 weeks solid and get it done and dusted.
